I use IM almost every day, at work and at home, and sometimes from our customer’s PCs. That way of using is not trivial for most users of IM I guess, and that is why I cannot use any IM client(s) available.

Here I have described some points which are required for me to use IM the way I like.

IM Client has to be able to do following:

1. support several protocols (i use ICQ, IRC, Jabber, MSN and MRA);

2. be able to run from USB Stick without need to install anything on every PC and without leaving any information about its work (like some Registry keys or temp files…) so noone could know that IM was running there some minutes ago (well, except firewall logs);

3. support several sets of network settings (like proxy address, ports and using of uPnP) and several groups of UI settings (like switch off all sounds, popups, autocreating of windows, any kind of blinking…) with ability to easily switch between them (or the best way – somehow automatically);

4. full support of unicode (as I am using different PCs with different default languages for UI and nonunicode programs);

So, just four reqs. AFAIK, only MirandaIM can do all 4 of them (3rd – automatically (or, better to say, with batch file, which needs to be configured only once), 4th – with some restrictions). Or is there any other client that can fulfil all these reqs, I am not aware of?

• fixed bug with icons in Options – Events – Status Notify for MIM<0.7.0.2;
• made paths to individual sounds unicode-safe. This is supported since MIM 0.6.2, so support of versions below is dropped for Unicode;
• disable any notifications for chatrooms;
• fix showing test popup for “from offline” event;
• reworked Popup options page a bit:
  changed test popup text – from now it really shows choosen info;
  fixed possibility to show only status messages;
• fixed bug with Mainmenu item showing garbage;

after log time of not-doing-anything (i moved to another place), here is new aplha version of NSN.

As many people asked, from this build there will be 2 DLLs: NewStatusNotify.dlll for ANSI, and NewStatusNotifyW.dll – for Unicode version. Please report bugs on MirandaIM forum .

• Plugin Disable/Enable Menu Item moved from popup submenu to main menu. Thx to Faith Helaer for icons;
• implemented support of metacontacts, as from v0.12.2.3 Metacontacts plugin behaves different than other protos. Issues like lot of popups on startup and going offline should be gone now. Please test;
• changed detection behavior of statuses supported by the protocol – now if it returns 0 – then it will be translated as “support all statuses”. Used for Metacontacts and Weather Protos who return 0 in certain cases;
• switched to standard m_popup.h (as Nullbie finally made support for TCHAR in it, and now this header is in standard codebase);
• added support of Updater for ANSI beta version;
• changed order of statuses in “user options” – “status notify” list;
• added hidden DWORD setting “ConnectionTimeoutXXX” per proto, where XXX is a proto name (e.g. “ConnectionTimeoutSkype”). If not found – then general “ConnectionTimeout” setting (see description of 1.1.2.5b3) will be taken.
• corrected reading of DWORD values from “ConnectionTimeout” setting to get rid of thousands of popups when connecting to Skype;
• fixed individual sounds previewing and playing when using SecureDB driver (though that driver still has a bug with destroying of relative paths when calling *_PATHTORELATIVE function with relative path as 1st param). Thanks to LEM for pointing out to that bug and testing of fixed version.

Sorry people, don’t have time to develop it as before, as i have

1. new job and

2. my wife is finally join me so we trying ti find a new flat,

and all of it takes much time.

So from changes:

• fixed some DB memory leaks (thanks to Borkra)
• added show Miranda Client version (hidden option: “ShowMirVer” = 1 as byte in DB) [FR:Thief]
• added showing of contact’s group name after contact’s name in popup title [FR:Wombat]
• if left click on popup is configured to open message window – then it does this also for contacts went offline (before it just did popup dismiss for offline status popup) [FR:Wombat]

I haven’t tested fixes by Borkra alot, so be careful.

BTW, bug in Modern mentioned in v1.1.2.5RC2 was fixed by FYR in b58 .

• click on popup settings are moved to popup settings page
• fixed: context menu on rightclick did not work (there are some issues though due to bugs in other plugins:
  -with CList_Modern message window will always appear when you select smth from rightclick popup context menu [beside that selected item]
  -with Popup plugin you will not get any icons in context menu
  -YAPP just hangs when you select certain items from context menu )
• fixed settings for ignoring sounds depending on your status were not saved
• small change in status name (”N/A”->”NA”, as it was before)
• double click on a contact in Options – Events – Status Notify now selects appropriate page in user details even when UserInfoEx is installed (requires UInfoEx 0.1.2.18)

у меня накрылся винт. просто в 1 прекрасный момент винда показала синяк (чего я уже, наверное, с полгода не видел), и после этого отказалась загружаться. диагноз – системный винт (если кому интересно – Hitachi 120GXP на 80 гиг, работал исправно с 2002 года) не раскручивается. а если раскручивается, то останавливается через макс. 2 минуты. То есть до загрузки винды дело доходит, но этим и заканчивается.

Обидно, конечно. Пошёл покупать новый винт. В наличии были сигейты и самсунги. взял сигейт на 300 гиг. поставил на него винду (так как винт SerialATA, то пришлось доставать и подключать флопповод, чтобы 1 раз нажать F6 при установке винды,блин), и через 2 часа случайно пнул его ногой. Винт упал с коробки, на которой лежал, ок. 10 см высотой, на ковёр, 1 краем. второй край остался на коробке – кабели держали. Свежепоставленная винда – в синяк. После ресета – не стартует. Винт (уже новый!) вроде раскручивается, но с подозрительным шумом, и раз в 20 секунд жалобно тихонько повизгивает (примерно такие же звуки издавал старый хитачик, но раза 3 в сутки, при термокалибровке). и матплата его уже даже не детектит. Короче – в морг.

Поехал, поменял на самсунг HP300LJ (других сигейтов не было, ждать не хотелось). Вот с него и пишу. хоть винт и новый (модель), но не покидает ощущение тормознутости и громкого сика. Так что – мои НЕрекомендации самсунгов (как минимум этой модели). Вдобавок ещё и греется неслабо.

As my HDD died, I have to pause development/debugging of NSN until I get new HDD, install OS and get data from old HDD (or at least try to get…). So next update will be earliest next week, 18 or 19 th of July.

But feel free to comment any bug or wish you want to be fixed/implemented.
